Japanese Cherry Blossom is one of those fragrances that feels completely different from the sugary vanillas and fruity body-care scents that tend to get most of the attention.
This one is unmistakably floral. It has a polished, perfume-like quality that makes it feel a little more dressed up than a typical everyday scented lotion.
What keeps it interesting is that it is not just a bouquet of flowers. Asian pear gives the fragrance a little brightness, while sandalwood adds warmth underneath the cherry blossom, mimosa and jasmine.

The current Bath & Body Works body lotion formula is lightweight and easy to spread, which makes it convenient when I am planning to add perfume on top.
It absorbs much faster than a heavy body butter, so I do not feel like I have to wait forever before finishing the rest of my fragrance routine.
Bath & Body Works says the formula contains shea butter and coconut oil and is designed to provide up to 48 hours of moisture.
For me, the reason to choose Japanese Cherry Blossom is still the scent. If my skin is extremely dry, I usually want a richer moisturizer. But when fragrance layering is the goal, the lighter feel actually works in its favor.
The lotion leaves enough floral fragrance behind to influence the perfume without making the skin feel heavily coated.
