Angel Mugler Perfume Review

Angel by Mugler is one of those fragrances I had heard about for years, so I was excited to finally test it for myself. It’s known for being bold and very recognizable, and after wearing it for the day I could definitely see why it has such a strong reputation.
The scent is built around rich gourmand notes like caramel, chocolate, praline, and vanilla. These dessert-like notes give it a sweet, indulgent character that stands out compared to many modern perfumes. As the fragrance develops, patchouli and amber create a deeper, more dramatic base.
This is not a subtle fragrance. Angel has a strong presence and impressive longevity, which makes it better suited for evenings, cooler weather, or situations where you want your perfume to make more of a statement.
Even though it is stronger than many fragrances I normally wear, I still really enjoyed it. If you like sweet, dessert-inspired scents, this one definitely delivers. It’s the kind of fragrance that lingers on clothing and can easily last all day.
Angel also has an important place in perfume history. When it was released in 1992, it completely changed the fragrance industry by introducing gourmand scents into fine perfumery. At the time, most perfumes focused on florals, so the idea of chocolate and caramel notes was extremely unusual.
Because of how different it smelled, many department stores were hesitant to carry it at first. Over time, however, Angel became one of the most influential perfumes ever created and inspired countless fragrances that followed.
The bottle itself is also iconic. The blue star design was inspired by Thierry Mugler’s childhood memory of staring up at the night sky and being fascinated by the stars.
After testing this fragrance, I can definitely understand why it became such a legend in the fragrance world. It’s bold, unique, and instantly recognizable. I also recently purchased Mugler Goddess after falling in love with a sample I received from one of my Ulta orders, and now I’m excited to try Alien next to see how it compares.
This perfume was part of my fragrance testing lineup this week, where I spent several days wearing different scents to see how they performed, how the notes evolved on the skin, and which ones stood out the most.
