My First Impression
Cloud by Ariana Grande ended up being my biggest surprise of the week. I love vanilla fragrances, but I expected this one to lean sweeter and heavier than what I usually enjoy.
Instead, it felt light, creamy and incredibly easy to wear. After testing several perfumes that week, this was the one I kept reaching for the most, and it quickly became my favorite.

Creamy coconut and praline
Base Notes
Vanilla, soft woods and musk
How It Smells
The fragrance opens with lavender, pear and bergamot before transitioning into creamy coconut, praline and vanilla.
As it settles on the skin, the scent becomes warm and comforting while still staying airy and fresh. The vanilla and coconut combination creates a cozy feeling without becoming overly sugary.
The lavender and bergamot help keep the opening bright, while the pear adds a soft fruity quality. Once the fragrance dries down, the creamy notes become more noticeable and give Cloud its smooth, comforting character.
How It Wore Throughout the Day
Cloud stayed soft and approachable on my skin throughout the day. It never became too heavy or overwhelming, which made it very easy to keep wearing.
The warm vanilla and coconut notes became more noticeable as the fragrance settled, but the scent still kept its airy quality. It was one of those perfumes I kept wanting to smell again.
Because it is softer than some of the other fragrances I tested, it also felt comfortable enough for everyday settings where a stronger perfume might be too much.
When I Would Wear It
This is the type of fragrance that works beautifully for everyday wear. It feels perfect for casual outings, running errands, brunch with friends or even a relaxed date night.
Because it stays fairly soft and approachable, it also works well in work settings where stronger fragrances might feel overwhelming.
Cloud is versatile enough to wear during several seasons, but I would especially enjoy it when I wanted something warm and comforting without the heaviness of a traditional cold-weather vanilla.
Why Cloud Became So Popular
One reason Cloud attracted so much attention is that many fragrance lovers compare its airy, warm and slightly sweet scent profile to much more expensive luxury fragrances.
That comparison helped Cloud become known as an affordable option for people who enjoy creamy, sophisticated scents but do not want to spend several hundred dollars on a perfume.
Despite being a celebrity fragrance, Cloud also gained recognition within the fragrance world. Its popularity shows that a perfume can feel playful and affordable while still appealing to serious fragrance lovers.
The Story Behind the Bottle
The bottle sits inside a removable cloud-shaped base that gives the fragrance a playful and recognizable design.
The cloud theme represents positivity and optimism, which fits the scent well. Both the bottle and the fragrance feel soft, comforting and uplifting.
How I Would Layer It
Cloud pairs especially well with vanilla or coconut-based body lotions. A light vanilla lotion underneath can amplify the creamy base notes without making the fragrance feel too sweet.
A coconut lotion would enhance the smooth tropical side, while a soft musk lotion could keep the combination airy and clean.
Applying a moisturizing lotion or body oil before the perfume can also help the scent hold onto the skin and last longer throughout the day.
Would I Buy It?
After wearing all the perfumes I tested that week, Cloud stood out the most. It is the fragrance I would be most likely to purchase in a full-size bottle and the one I was most excited to keep wearing.
I loved that it gave me the creamy vanilla profile I naturally enjoy without becoming too heavy or sugary. It felt comforting, easy to wear and more versatile than I expected.
Cloud quickly became a favorite, and it also made me curious to try more fragrances from Ariana Grande's collection.
