Week two of perfume testing gave me another really interesting mix of scents, and it definitely confirmed that I know what I like—and what I do not.

I am learning that anything too rose-heavy or intensely floral tends to feel a little more mature or overpowering than what I naturally reach for. Balanced fresh scents, clean feminine fragrances and warm modern perfumes are much more my style.

This week included a few clear misses, but there were also scents that pleasantly surprised me and a couple I would absolutely wear again.

Here is my honest review of each one.

What This Week Taught Me

My Fragrance Preferences Are Becoming Much Clearer

I am consistently drawn toward scents that feel balanced, modern, feminine and easy to wear.

What I Loved Clean musk, warm softness, balanced sweetness and modern feminine compositions.
What Did Not Work Strong rose notes and intensely floral openings that felt too mature on my skin.
Biggest Surprise My Way became much more wearable and appealing once the stronger opening settled.
Lancôme Idôle Peach and Roses perfume
Rose-Forward Floral

Idôle Peach & Roses by Lancôme

This one unfortunately was not a favorite for me.

The rose note came through immediately. It does have a polished, elegant scent profile, but on my skin it leaned much more mature than what I usually enjoy.

I expected the peach to give it more fruitiness, but the floral side remained much stronger throughout the wear.

It was not an unpleasant fragrance, but it simply did not feel like me. Anyone who loves refined rose perfumes may appreciate it much more than I did.

My honest review

I did not really care for this one. It smelled primarily like roses and felt more mature than my usual fragrance style.

Best Time to Wear Afternoon, dressier daytime occasions and spring evenings.
Longevity Approximately 6 to 8 hours on my skin.
Layering Ideas Rose body cream, soft vanilla lotion or powdery musk spray.
Overall Verdict Polished and elegant, but too rose-forward for me.

Sam Edelman Duet perfume
Clean Everyday Favorite

Duet by Sam Edelman

This fragrance was a really nice surprise.

It felt clean, wearable and well balanced without leaning overly floral or too sweet. This was one of those easy scents I could see myself reaching for on a regular basis.

It gave me a polished everyday feeling while still remaining soft and feminine. Nothing about it felt too heavy, complicated or difficult to wear.

This is the type of perfume that works when I want to smell put together without feeling like the fragrance is entering the room before I do.

My honest review

Really nice, balanced and easy to wear. I would definitely reach for this one again.

Best Time to Wear Work, lunch, everyday errands and casual daytime plans.
Longevity Approximately 5 to 7 hours on my skin.
Layering Ideas Clean skin lotion, white musk mist or light vanilla cream.
Overall Verdict One of my favorites and an easy everyday choice.

Giorgio Armani My Way perfume
Biggest Surprise

My Way by Giorgio Armani

This one was better than I expected.

The opening came across a little strong at first, and I was not sure how I felt about it during the first few minutes.

Once it settled, though, the fragrance became much more wearable. It developed into something polished, elevated and noticeably more appealing than the initial spray suggested.

It has that recognizable designer-fragrance presence and definitely lasts. I would reach for it when I wanted something more noticeable and dressed up than my usual everyday scents.

My honest review

Better than expected. It was a little strong at first, but I liked it much more once it settled.

Best Time to Wear Evening, dinner, date night or special events.
Longevity Approximately 7 to 10 hours on my skin.
Layering Ideas Vanilla lotion, amber body oil or warm floral body mist.
Overall Verdict A strong opening with a much prettier dry down.

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb perfume
Bold Floral

Flowerbomb by Viktor&Rolf

This one was definitely too floral for me.

I know Flowerbomb is incredibly popular, but on my skin it felt very strong and overwhelmingly floral from the beginning.

It has a rich, dramatic presence that would probably be beautiful on someone who loves bold florals, but it simply did not feel like my personal style.

The fragrance lasted extremely well, so I can absolutely understand why it has such a loyal following. For me, though, the intensity was too much.

My honest review

Very strong and far too floral for me personally.

Best Time to Wear Evening, cooler weather and special occasions.
Longevity Easily 8 hours or longer on my skin.
Layering Ideas Jasmine lotion, floral body cream or powdery musk scents.
Overall Verdict Powerful and long-lasting, but not my style.

Kylie Cosmetics Cosmic 2.0 perfume
Modern Feminine Favorite

Cosmic 2.0 by Kylie Cosmetics

This one ended up being one of my favorites from the week.

I really liked the scent profile because it felt modern, feminine and easy to wear. It had a balanced sweetness without becoming overly floral.

The fragrance felt polished but still relaxed enough for everyday wear, which is exactly the type of balance I tend to enjoy most.

My only real complaint was the longevity. I enjoyed wearing it, but it did not stay on overnight or last as long as some of the stronger fragrances in this group.

My honest review

I really liked this one and would wear it again, but I wish it lasted longer.

Best Time to Wear Daytime, casual evenings and everyday plans.
Longevity Approximately 4 to 6 hours on my skin.
Layering Ideas Soft vanilla lotion, clean musk mist or warm skin scents.
Overall Verdict Modern, feminine and one of my favorites this week.

Final Thoughts

My Week Two Favorites

This week confirmed that fresh, balanced and slightly warm fragrances are much more my style than intense floral perfumes.

Best Everyday Scent Duet felt clean, polished and easy enough to reach for regularly.
Best Modern Feminine Scent Cosmic 2.0 had the balanced sweetness and warm softness I enjoy.
Biggest Surprise My Way became much prettier and more wearable after the opening settled.
My final ranking

Duet and Cosmic 2.0 were my clear favorites, with My Way earning the biggest-surprise spot. Idôle Peach & Roses and Flowerbomb confirmed that strong rose and floral-heavy compositions are not usually what I enjoy wearing.
